Cozumel Dive Academy is a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center and a full-service dive center. Featuring a well-stocked retail shop, daily boat dives, and an active training schedule of all levels of recreational and professional level courses, you will be working with actual divers and students daily as you learn the necessary skills to be a competent PADI Divemaster.

Using all our resources, Cozumel Dive Academy strives to offer you the most comprehensive PADI Divemaster training in Cozumel. You will train and assist divers on our custom dive boat, The Blue Pearl, guided by our experienced instructional team.

Complete your Divemaster Internship and become a PADI Professional with Cozumel Dive Academy. Becoming a PADI Divemaster is your first step as a PADI Professional. As such, your training should be both professional and thorough, though not forgetting the FUN!

We offer unlimited diving to all our divemaster internship participants during your training.

Academics

The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. You develop the skills to organize and direct various scuba diving activities through knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessments. Supervising dive activities and assisting student divers
Diver safety and risk management
Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills

Divers Alert Network (DAN) Divers Insurance We require all our Interns to carry DAN Insurance for their protection.
Transportation to and from Cozumel, along with any required visas

Prerequisites

The minimum age is 18
The minimum scuba certification level is dependent on the program you choose. Would you please check the prerequisites for your specific Internship?

You will also need a completed and signed medical statement dated within 12 months of the end of your program. Click here to download a copy for review.

Accommodations

Accommodation is provided in our exclusive "Intern" house with all our training packages. You will stay with your fellow interns in a comfortable, furnished private house that includes a fully equipped kitchen, two spacious living rooms with TV and DVD players, a rooftop palapa with a BBQ, and a private pool to relax in at that end of the day, as well as WIFI throughout the house.

The house is a short taxi ride or walk to all the local attractions Cozumel has to offer. Several reasonably priced restaurants and great roadside Taco stands are located nearby, as well as shopping and grocery stores. We also provide bicycles to help you get around.

If you want somewhere a little more private, Cozumel Dive Academy also has the option of a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment available for rent.

You are not required to stay in our housing. We will gladly assist you if you prefer private accommodation or a hotel package.

Payment and cancellation policy

A USD 250.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon your accepting your Internship. Full payment is due 45 days before the start of your program.

Cash. We accept USD, Mexican Pesos, GBP, and Euro. Please get in touch with us for the current exchange rate.

If you cancel your Divemaster Internship booking, the following penalties apply.

30 or more days before arrival: forfeit - 25% of total Cost excluding deposit
Less than 30 days before the scheduled start date - 50% of the total cost, excluding the deposit
After your Internship has started, the course is non-refundable

We do understand that unforeseen situations can and do arise. If you need to cancel your booked Internship, we will do our best to reschedule you for an alternate program. In the event of an extreme circumstance, we will work with you regarding any possible refund option.

Can I stay and complete my Instructor Development Course if I decide to?

We would love for you to stay and complete your PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) with us. You can add your IDC and any other training you want anytime during your program. Remember, you must be a certified diver for six months before starting your IDC.
