Complete your PADI Advanced Open Water Course with the friendly team at Cozumel Dive Academy. This course can be taken right after the PADI Open Water Course. It is called the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it is designed to advance your diving knowledge and skills.
That is what the PADI Advanced Diver course is all about. The course is designed to advance your diving. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out other specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

To take this course, you must be:
A PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
Complete a PADI Medical Statement. Please note that any "YES" answer to a question requires Physician approval before any in-water activities.

During your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you will:
Complete five Adventure Dives. Two of these dives are required for all participants, and these dives are the :
Deep Adventure Dive
On the Deep Adventure Dive, you will complete a dive beyond the 18/60' limit of your Open Water Course, generally to a maximum depth of 30m/100' or 21m/70" for the Junior Advanced Open Water Course.
You will complete the Underwater Navigation Dive from shore. During this dive, you will improve your underwater navigation skills using your compass and natural landmarks.
You will then get to choose three more adventure dives of your choice. You have many options for these dives, such as Night Diver, Wreck Diver, Search and Recovery, Drift Diver, or even Enriched Air Nitrox Diver.
If you elect to complete the Night Adventure dive, this will be completed as a shore dive. This will add a second shore dive to your PADI Advanced Open Water Course, resulting in you completing six dives. There will not be an added cost in this case.
As you read the chapters specific to the Adventure Dives you choose, you will also learn about:
Practical aspects of deep diving
Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.
More ways to use your underwater compass
How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks, and time
How to better use your dive computer and electronic Recreational Dive PlannerTM (eRDPTM)
And much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose
You will also complete the "Thinking Like a Diver" section of the Advanced Open Water Manal, where you will learn about four central techniques of diving which are:
Primary and secondary dive objectives
Increasing your situational awareness
How to handle task loading
Better habits to be a good diver
